The political tussle playing out in Edo State, has been one of the most talked about political rift dramatizing itself , nevertheless, this is originally coming after Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki defected to PDP, the All Progressives congress, APC has reacted to the news. As the PDP welcomed him with open arms as the likes of former upper house law-maker, Saraki has assured him the full support of the party which will help him retain his seat.
However, reports has it earlier on today based on exclusive confirmation that Godwin Obaseki, has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Many had expected this move since Governor Obaseki resigned from the APC on the 16 of June 2020. This was made known moments back by Obaseki himself, when he led some of his appointees and supporters to the PDP secretariat in Benin-City.
Reacting to the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated that he was not surprised by the move, as they had expected it since June 16th.
It has not come to us as a surprise. We knew he had defected long ago because he resigned his membership of the party which we have accepted.
“So you can’t defect twice. So if he is defecting again, we don’t know whether what he has just done now is news any longer.” HE said
Meanwhile, recalls that Obaseki resigned from the APC after it’s screening committee disqualified him from the June 22 governorship primary.
The NWC last Saturday affirmed his disqualification by the screening and appeal committees inaugurated by his political “Enemy” dams Oshiohmole.
