Nollywood actress and winner of Next Movie Star Reality Tv Show 2015, Cynthia Shalom has aired her voice on some of the vital societal issues that has constantly made hot topics in many social media platform. The actress who had addressed the issue and aired her view in an interview with Sunday Scoop regarding women who settles in for marriage with older men as well as how she learnt to better handle/respond to rejection.
The talented movie star and dance instructor shared her thoughts during the interview as she says she finds nothing wrong with women marrying older men and that she even fancies such women. Sharing further on why she has no problem with issue, she had said;
“Women marrying older lovers is very common and it’s no news at all. I actually fancy women who marry older lovers.
She is more likely to look up to him because he is older and has more experience which often leads to maturity.
If an older man, who is worthy of one’s time knows what he wants in a relationship, it’s that simple.
As long as they are good to each other and their vision for the future is in harmony, why not? It is about the two of them as individuals and not the age difference. Age is only a number.”
“No one likes to hear ‘no’. However, over time, I trained myself to accept ‘no’ though it took me a long time to understand.
It doesn’t mean that one is not good; it just indicates that one may not be right for the particular role. It can demean one, honestly.
Trying to fit in and stand out was also another challenge I faced. It’s a huge industry with so many talents and everyone chasing the same thing.”
However, while most people do not agree with her school of thought, most women like herself has seen nothing absolutely wrong with most women who have taken such steps. Recall even the so much back lashing that has followed the marriage of the young Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and Prince Ned Nwoko.
