The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has finally come out to say his own side of the story of the physical fight that the popular Monarch and his rival, the Agbowu of Agbaagbaa. Going by the little rift that had gone on between the two Monarchs at a meeting which was set to deliberate and find lasting solution to the problem being faced in their individual communities.
According to reports, the popular monarch, the Oluwo of Iwo land, has admitted to assaulting monarch rival, the Agbowu of Agbaagbaa. However, the two Osun state monarchs got into an argument in the meeting which led to Oluwo punching Agbowu. The Oluwo of Iwo land revealed that he got angry after Agbowu of Agbaagbaa called him a mad man and other sorts of unnameable insults while pointing his staff of office at him. It was recently reported that two Osun monarchs got into a brawl at a peace meeting that took place in Osun state capital, Osogbo.
The traditional rulers, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi and Agbowu of Agbaagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo, had attended a peace meeting organised by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 11, to settle a land dispute between the communities. In a post shared on Oba Akanbi’s Instagram page, the king addressed the issue and revealed the reason he punched Oba Akinropo in the face and that he had not punched him because he had intentionally wanted to but that it was because of the lack of respect in which the Agbowu of Agbaagbaa, Oba Dhirulahi Akinropo had disrespected him publicly while he was addressing on the matter at hand.
According to him, he defended himself after the Agbowu of Agbaagbaa called him a mad man and pointed his staff of office at him, attempting to stick it into his eyes. The Oluwo of Iwo asked why he should receive the insult. He also noted that no other monarch would do such to the Ooni of Ife or Alaafin of Oyo as everyone deserves respect and honor.

Oluwo stated he was truly invited by the authority of the police to make peace on his stance curtailing excess land selling by monarchs under his domain, a pronouncement that was not go down well with those affected as they regroup to act against the authority of Oluwo who gave them the crown.
At the peace meeting held at AIG office, Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa interrupted Oluwo while making his speech and called Oba Akanbi unprintable names, pointing his staff of office at Oluwo while attempt to stick the staff in his eyes was heavily rejected with force which Agbowu could not withstand.
How could a constable openly insult commissioner of police and make attempt to beat the CP? Can any monarch try such with Ooni, Alaafin?
