Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has lifted the lockdown order placed on Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the state on suspicion of COVID-19.
The governor however, made the announcement while speaking at the government house in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
According to him, the decision for the relaxing of the lockdown is coming after after samples taken from the local government were revealed to be negative.
Yahaya Bello, therefore insisted on his claim that Kogi State is COVID-19 free.
Recall that the Governor has been very outspoken on the Covid-19 case in Nigeria as he has raised skeptical questions to the reality of presence of the Cronavirus disease in Nigeria.
However, even after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed two cases of COVID-19 in the state, the Governor have stood his ground on the presence of the ravaging disease in Kogi State..
Meanwhile, this was corroborated by the former senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye who stated that he knows one of the patients.
