The African Giant superstar Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy is having not just a fabulous 2019 musical career but has almost taken over the scene among his equals in Africa. Burna Boy who has been nominated along other Nigeria stars like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno e.t.c for the Grammy Awards 2020 is sure booming with his international recognition. Burna Boy whose nomination for Best World Music Album category of the year which has his African Giant Album inclusive aside ‘Ja Ara E’ from Beyonce’s Lion King is stretching him further.
Burna Boy has caught lots of international recognition counting from Rihanna, Cardi B, a collabo with Beyonce on the huge project of Lion King and just to mention a few. And just recently, one of America’s biggest rapper, songwriter, producer and record executive has also noticed the African Giant.

Going by the list of his playlist, Out of the 40-track playlist exclusively on TIDAL, Burna Boy’s “Collateral Damage” made one of the songs as Jay Z selected as his favorite for the year.
Jay’s selections included cuts like Kanye West s “Follow God,” Russ and Bia’s “Best on Earth,” Tyler, The Creator’s “EARFQUAKE,” DaBaby’s “SUGE,” and Jhene Aiko’s “Triggered”.
Other songs making his playlist includes Drake, “Young Thug. Travis Scott “Rod Wave” his wife Beyonce also made his playlist with her song “Lil Baby”
However, going by Burna Boy’s musical breaks in 2019 and as the year rounds off, his nomination for the Grammy and this wide recognition possibly could avail him that opportunity of being the first Nigerian Musical Art nominated to win the Grammy aside Sikiru Adepoju had win the Grammy in 2009 for Best Contemporary World Music Album.
The album is nominated in the Best World Album category. Other contenders for the same win are Altin Gün for Gece, Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet for Fanm D’Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
