BBNaija 2018 star, Olubusayo Abiri popularly known as Khloe, while friends call her Koko shared a post on her IG with a long list of what she had wanted her man to be like and have in terms of material acquisition. She had stated clearly on the post that she can’t marry or take in a broke man as a husband.
According to Khloe, she cannot marry a man who does not have at least three cars, two houses and two stable businesses . The Tv reality star moved further by saying that all she had written was her choice and not the choice of those criticizing her choice of words as everyone is entitled to their individual choice in life. Apparently, the issue of ladies not wanting to settle down with broke men has been a hot topic on the Nigerian social media for a long time as many men criticize ladies for wanting to marry the already made men. There is no doubt that everybody likes to live the good life and it has resulted in pressure for men who cannot get desirable women because they cannot take care of them.
While many have argued on the issue of love if it still exists which could have been the bases of finding or engaging a partner, some have also formed the opinion that love doesn’t necessarily build the bases of marriage as lots of marriages that was built on love have shattered because of the lack of the material endowment especially on the angle of the man.
Explaining further, Khloe had said she and her siblings suffered a lot while growing up and she would not want to bring kids to this world if she and her husband cannot take care of them. “A person who settles for crumbs can’t understand the mentality of someone who wants the whole cake,” she added.
According to her, ladies are quick to judge when deep in their heart they also want the good life but settle for less because they do not think they can get it or deserve it. She said: “I’m already a working class lady, so why should I on earth settle for less…. men will curse me cos they don’t work hard enough to acquire these things or they know they can’t come close to achieving these things in 100 years to come AND that’s none of my life business … keep your poverty and low thinking to yourself.” Also speaking on the backlash her candid opinion would earn her, Khloe further said that she won’t be going back on her word as her word and choice is what defines her.
