Award Winning Writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Welcomes “Wakanda” Actress And Oscar Award Winner Lupita Nyong’o Ahead Of The Movie “Americanah” In Lagos

Popular Nigerian, and award winning writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie  who is most definitely best known for her amazing story telling, told on some of her amazing novels like the popular, Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun etc is a force to reckon with not just in the literary world but for her contribution to education and humanity. Adichie who is also an accomplished short story writer as well as  nonfiction writer has moved her way through, to getting international recognition.

The Famous Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Adichie  hosted the  Kenyan-born Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong’o in Lagos on Saturday. The private reception hosted in honor of Lupita Nyong’o, was attended by some Nigerian celebrities which include D’banj, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Omawumi, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Toolz, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Ebuka, Flavour, Bovi and a host of other celebrities.

This is coming ahead of the screening of Americanah, an upcoming drama miniseries by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.  Meanwhile, the “Wakanda” actress who ever since coming across the novel and read, has not only falling in love with the novel  but the Kenyan-born Oscar winner, Lupita, optioned the rights in 2014, as she expresses her desire to be part of the project when the idea of the project emerged. Americanah is a novel by the Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, for which Adichie won the 2013 National Book Critics Circle Fiction award.

However, Americanah which features Oscar award winner and international actress, Lupita Nyong’o who will be acting as Ifemelu also features other casts such as; Zackary Momoh as Obinze, Uzo Aduba as Aunty Uju, Corey Hawkins as Blaine, Tireni Oyenusi as Dike etc..
