Another Blow; NCDC, Dettol Separates Self From Funke Akindele

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC and Dettol Nigeria, have both reacted after the Lagos state police command arrested actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, for defaulting the lockdown caution and rules which was set up by the federal government.

Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz had a birthday party at their Amen estate home in Lagos state last night and was attended by quite a number of people which contravenes the social distancing order of the Lagos state government.

However, after the public had found out on the information, it had ignited fury from twitter users as they troll en-mass to call for the actress arrest for breaking such important rule, as few of the people in attendance also returned from UK, especially someone like Naira Marley and even Eniola Badmus.

She was picked up by men of the Lagos state police command while her husband, singer Naira Marley, has also been asked to come forward for questioning.

Recall that shortly after the coronavirus pandemic began in Lagos, Funke ran a video campaign sponsored by Dettol. In the video, she emphasized on the need for Nigerians to practice proper hygiene such as washing their hands and social distancing. People who had felt it more, had felt disappointed that an actress of her caliber and prestige would go to such extent to breaking a rule that she should have been in the fore-front educating and helping save the lives of her fans.

Shortly after the news of her arrest broke, Dettol Nigeria on its Twitter page to reacted to the news as it disassociates brand and agency from the actress.
